Your adventure begins in Ouarzazate, as you head toward the peaceful town of Taznakht. Along the scenic road of the Anti-Atlas, you’ll pass through traditional Berber villages surrounded by rocky hills and valleys. In Taznakht, meet local artisans who have mastered the art of carpet weaving using techniques passed down for generations. Visit small cooperatives where women create vibrant rugs using natural dyes and wool from local sheep.
After lunch, the road continues to Taliouine, known as Morocco’s “saffron capital.” As you arrive, the fragrance of saffron fills the air. Visit the Saffron Museum to learn about the harvest process, then stroll through the saffron fields that paint the landscape in gold and red. Continue your journey north toward Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most famous ksars. Explore its labyrinth of earthen alleys and ancient towers, where countless films have been shot. After a leisurely exploration, return to Ouarzazate by early evening.
