The Moroccan Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the prefecture of the Safi province, the regional council of Doukkala-Abda, the municipal councils, and the urban group of the city of Safi, organizes the Aita Festival. Groups and groups of Aita art from the various regions of the Kingdom in which this art originated are participating in this festival: Safi – Casablanca – El Jadida – Beni Mellal – Khouribga – Marrakesh – Kalaat Sraghna – Kenitra – Khenifra, and Taounate. The participating teams of elders and youth are chosen according to the well-known patterns in this art.
Cultural events, through organizing this festival, aim to take care of it, document it, preserve it, and protect it, and encourage teams that are interested in this art, especially the groups of sheikhs, by motivating them to give and continue while recognizing the services of sheikhs and symbols of this art, honoring them, taking their hand, and urging them to train young people and teach them the principles and methods of this art. Al-Badi’, and the work of introducing this art and spreading it among circles and regions that still do not know much about it.
