This journey is one of the best to see southern Morocco: crossing the High Atlas Mountains, exploring ancient kasbahs and fortified villages, stopping at oases, and experiencing Berber culture.
You’ll leave Marrakech early (usually around sunrise), drive through mountain passes (often Tizi n’ Tichka), arrive at the UNESCO-listed Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, then continue to Ouarzazate (“Hollywood of Africa”), then on toward Skoura Oasis where Kasbah Amridil lies among palm groves. Depending on if you do it in one day or spread over two, you’ll have more or less time to see, rest, and soak up the atmosphere.
